They say, imagination is more powerful than knowledge. Haldhar Nag’s is a living testimony of this.

The class three dropout has penned down various poems along with 20 epics. Odhisa’s Sambalpur University is compiling the work of Kosli language poet who has never worn any footwear and always dons a white dhoti and a vest. The compilation will be part of university’s syllabus.

Five scholars are doing research on Nag’s work who was recently
awarded Padam Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of the country,
by the President of India Pranab Mukherjee.

“He remembers whatever he writes and has been reciting them. You just
need to mention the name or subject. He never misses anything. Now he
attends at least three to four programmes every day to recite his
poems,” a close associate of the poet told The Times of India.
